Rock Band: Sybreed vs. YOU! - Feb 08th 2010

Greeting folks,

It is statistically likely that among our fans, some of you are the happy owners of a video game console, as well as the game Rock Band. Well, know that, as from today you will be able to destroy your precious fingers while trying to emulate the song “Doomsday Party” (with the appropriate controllers of course: doesn’t work with kitchen utensils). And let me tell you, of what we have seen so far, you can consider it as somewhat “Hardcore” regarding the difficulty: we aren’t even sure we Sybreed would be able to play our own song on Rock Band without failing miserably. Anyway, this for us a good opportunity to train an army of substitutes who will be able to perform a Sybreed show while we will stay at home: all the earnings will have to be transferred on our bank accounts, though.

Anyway, here is the official statement:

- Doomsday Party will be released on the Rock Band Network for the Xbox as a playable Rock Band game track when the store opens up.

- Players will be able to emulate Drop's rhythms, Benjamin's tasty vocals, Kevin's brutal drumming, and Steph's kickass bass by playing along with synchronized coloured gems, representing each note. In-game lighting and camera directions let in-game avatars rock out unlike any Rock Band song before.

- The track will be available to download on the Rock Band Network Marketplace for $1 or 80 Xbox points.

- Authoring was completed by Roy Scott

Contest Winner, In Flames Tour Report and other stuff ... - Jan 13th 2010

Hey there,

First of all, we would like to wish you a Happy New Year 2010.

Now we are going to announce the winner of the Sybreed’s “The Pulse Of Advertising” Video Contest:
Congratulation to Cristian Moreira, who will receive « the price » after having nothing less than beheaded the contest with his video.
The video is available on our official YouTube channel as well as on the Media section of our MySpace.
Thanks to all the participants, we really enjoyed watching all these videos.

Also, we finally have an official Facebook: click on the fucking link and add us as friends, we’ll post news and stuff there too.

Moreover, the new Sybreed’s website is under construction and should be soon on-line.

At last, we thought it would be cool to post a small tour report about the tour we’ve done with In Flames at the end of last year:

Where to begin with? It is a difficult task to summarize a thing like a tour, whatever its length. Anyway, for your own pleasure, here’s an abridged version: It-was-goddamn-cool! (Strong Texan Accent included).
From Amsterdam to Paris via Milan, stopping in Zurich, Strasbourg, Lille and in Luxembourg City, every show was a delight for us. Big venues, big crowd, big sound system, we all had great time on stage, playing our stuff and warming-up the audience, and it was a real pleasure and honour for us to make people sweat before In Flames would come on stage: we feel like we’ve done our job properly. So, we would like to thank the people who attended the shows, as well as our fans who travel from far for some of them, for showing us their appreciation, as well as we would like to thanks In Flames and their team, for making things the easiest possible, and thus helping us in fulfilling our duty gigs after gigs: they all deserve our most sincere respect.

Click here to watch a video filmed by Verdamnis in Paris @ Le Bataclan. The video is also available on the Media section of our MySpace.

Also we have several great pictures shot by Neil Lim Sang that we’ll put online really soon.

Love.

Greeting Folks,

With the release of our new album, we have decided to propose a little challenge to our ans, as well as the other people who would like to take part of it, in the form of a contest.

Here is the deal:

Produce your own 10 to 15 seconds video advertising for the Pulse of Awakening, and send it before the 21 december at the following adress: contest@listenable.net

The best videos will be on the official Sybreed's Youtube, and the ones with the most viewers will win the contest.

The creator of this video will be rewarded with 2 T-Shirts, our complete discography and a signed poster, and his video will be posted in the media section of our official Myspace page.

For obvious reasons, please make sure to avoid any political imagery (guys with a small moustache are utterly forbidden), as well as explicit violence or gore (we aren’t Cannibal Corpse after all). And if you decide to include porn stuff, your video will be kept for our personal use only.

Release date and 2 brand new tracks on MySpace - Sept 07th 2009

Greeting Folks,

Since the release date of "The Pulse Of Awakening" is slowly approaching, so as to say:

Nov 16 - Switzerland, France, Benelux, UK
Nov 20 - Germany
Nov 23 - Rest of Europe

The US release date is planned for Jan/Feb 2010 but the album will be available for digital download this winter. More info soon...

We think it's time to present a couple of new songs to introduce you to the current Sybreed's sound.

Of yourse it's always a bit difficult to choose which songs to put online, considering how much our music is a sonic roller coaster. That's why we've decided to offer you two new songs called respectively "I Am Ultraviolence" and "Doomsday Party": the first one is a pure anthem to extreme metal whereas the other one deliver a kind of apocalypse-in-a-nightclub atmosphere.

Now it's up to you to decide to eighter bang your head on the wall or party as if there were no tomorow (please note that we won't take any responsibilities in the resulting injuries that may occur).

The 2 new tracks will be online from Friday the 11th of September at midnight (GMT+1) on the link below:

Hello folks,

First of all and as we are back form the US, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved in the tour, so as to say Threat Signal, The Agonist, The Autumn Offering, Hector "Mexican Special" Gonzalez, who handled the bass player role for the tour, “General” Ace Piva and our driver Ringo. Those people are awesome, and we wish we could have toured with them forever: no need to say how much we miss them. We also would like to thanks all the fans we’ve met, spoke with, partied and had booze with and so on: you’ve made that tour the greatest ever, and we can’t wait to come back to visit you again!

Then, it’s time for a late update about the current Sybreed’s status. We are once again complete as a band, and are happy to introduce our new bass player Stephane: he is sexy, heavily tattooed, dwarf all of us by his American football lineman body shape and above all, plays bass as if there were no tomorrow.

STEPH

Regarding our new album, at the time we speak it's entirely done. We just came back from the mastering, as usual at Naïche's California Studio in Geneva, and it sounds really, really huge. Rhys Fulber did an amazing job on the mix and we can't wait for you to hear this new beast. Its release is still planed for Winter 2009. This information has already been issued on the net, but we would like to confirm the final tracking list and final cover, made by Seth Siro Anton (Septic Flesh, Moonspell, ...). So here we go:

The Pulse Of Awakening

1. Nomenklatura
2. A .E.O.N.
3. Doomsday Party
4. Human Black Box
5. KillJoy
6. I Am Ultraviolence
7. Electronegative
8. In The Cold Light
9. Lucifer Effect
10. Love Like Blood
11. Meridian A.D.
12. From Zero To Nothing

More news about the new album and the shows are about to come, as well as new songs to be posted on our Myspace.

Dear all,

Finally we’ve been granted our precious P-1 visas today, and we’ll fly tomorrow morning 7.00 am to be able to join the current Threat Signal tour. We would like to thanks the US embassy in Bern, Switzerland, for their kind help and quick response to the issues we’ve faced the last few days. We would like also to present our excuses to the American fans who wanted to see us during the shows we’ve missed: don’t worry it’s definitely not the last time we’ll tour in the US.

Tour issues - July 15th 2009

Dear all,

This one won’t be a good one.

Unfortunately, even if being on the starting block for the tour in the US, it seems that we are now facing problems with the issuance of the necessary P-1 visa that would allow us to perform on the American soil, and won’t be able to start the tour on the 16th of July. Even if we applied for our visa as soon as we knew we would be part of the Threat Signal’s tour, our requests still need some additional administrative processing. In consequence, we can but wait to have our passport back with the precious document and thus be able to join the tour in the shortest delays.

So, let’s all light a candle & and prey whatever divinity you believe in (The Old Guy Upstairs, The One Living in the Basement, Oprah …) to help us joining the tour as fast as possible.

SYBREED about to release NEW DIGITAL EP - July 9th 2009

Usually we are quite impressed by how fast information travels on the internet: when we post news here, it takes a couple of hours to see it appearing on the most up-to-date metal websites (which is quite encouraging if you think about it). However, the one which follows appeared before we’ve posted it …

Hum …

Wait … how can that be…?

(Fourth Dimension’s music playing in the background).

Well, since we don’t want to get paranoid about the implications of this (mind reading from extra-terrestrial entities, Dan Brown, band’s member phone tapping, Narnia, time travel with a modified DeLorean DMC-12 …) we prefer to just forget about it and give you the news as it was already reported on other websites:

"Swiss self proclaimed death wave kings SYBREED are touring the US with THREAT SIGNAL, THE AUTUMN OFFERING and THE AGONIST as below. The new album "The Pulse of Awakening" is currently being mixed by Rhys Fulber, and it is said to sound IMMENSE! The album is to be released in Fall 2009 on Listenable Records.

They will release an exclusive and only digital EP worldwide entitled 'A.E.O.N.' which features 2 new songs form the upcoming album and 3 raging electro/ techno remixes of "Emma 0" from their previous album " Antares"

The tracklisting of the "A.E.O.N." EP is:
1. A.E.O.N. (5:03)
2. Human Black Box (5:10)
3. Emma-0 (BAK XIII remix) (4:02)
4. Emma-0 (Phreakers Syndicate remix) (3:38)
5. Emma-0 (TANZ/TANZ remix) (4:45)

Release date announced soon.

Burn leaves Sybreed - June 29th 2009

While everybody is mourning the death of the King of Pop, which is in our mind a bad attempt to hide the fact that he actually went back to his homeland, so as to say the planet Krypton … or Sirius B (we’re still arguing on that matter),  we also have to share our part of sadness with the world by announcing the departure of our bass player Burn: indeed, after having spent several years roaming stages with us, he felt he wasn’t able to carry on with the constant sacrifices that a musician’s lifestyle implies (You know … having no job, no car, being broke, homeless and consume only low quality drugs). Fortunately, our friendship with him remains preserved, since it’s a decision we can fully understand, and so as to finish in a good way, Burn will anyway participate in the US tour beginning on the 17th of July, and surely in a couple of shows in Europe until we find a new bass player.

So, we are now looking for someone who could fill this duty. We have already a small list of people in mind, but still if you think you can handle the bass in Sybreed and if you want to try an audition, you can still contact Drop directly to the following address:
drop@sybreed.com.

Anyway here are a couple of conditions you have to fulfill: having skills (obviously), decent gears and equipments and if possible a good experience in stage performance. Leaving not too far from Geneva, being available and autonomous would also be also a plus, not to say necessary conditions. Ah yeah, and you MUST have skills. For the rest, including the psychological dimension, it will be left to our own appreciation.
