Recording of "God in an Automaton" - December 12th 2011

Greeting folks!

We have been kind of quiet recently so this is definitely time to give you some updates, isn't it?

Indeed we have just recently finished composing our new album and are about to begin the recording sessions, starting with the drums on this Monday the 12th of December @ the Downtone Studio (Geneva) until we leave to Australia for touring next March. The  mixing itself, supervised by Mr Rhys  Fulber once again, should take place in April 2012 in L.A., and we will handle the artwork part to Seth Siro Anton (again as well).

So far, we won’t reveal the tracking list itself (because, well, fuck, we decided so), but we can at least announce the title of this forthcoming LP, which will be called “God is an Automaton”.

We will try to keep you updated this time through impromptu videos of recording failures, small suicidal notes from band members unable to nail some specific part, pictures of a disgruntled, exhausted guitar player who happen to also record the whole mess, and so on, until we are finally done with our new offspring.

Australian tour 2012 - October 9th 2011

G’day mates !

It is definitely time for a couple of updates.

Recently, we have posted a couple of videos from the studio on our Facebook page. Consider it as small teasers since we are indeed now working on the fourth Sybreed’s album: the schedule for recording and mixing as been fully established and we of course will keep you update about the progress and details about our forthcoming LP in the coming weeks and months.

We also have slowed down our stage apparitions in order to focus on composition: it doesn’t mean we won’t make any live appearance until the completion of the new album. First of all, remember that we will play at the Euroblast festival on the 21st of October in Cologne, Germany: Djentlemen, this is THE place to be!

Ok, now here’s the big news (if you live in the South hemisphere). Ever dreamt of seeing us crossing a desert Mad Max style, ransoming people for gas? Or seeing us trying to find a suitable wave to surf in between sharks?

Well then, Sybreed will soon visit for the very first time the land of Kangaroos, Koalas, very huge spiders and other fearsome creatures (such as, hum, Mel Gibson), so as to say … Australia!

This tour will take place in March 2012, and we already have several dates confirmed as shown below:

New bassplayer - June 16th 2011

Greeting folks,

Here are a couple of news from the Sybreed microcosm, some good and some … not as good. Let’s start with the bad ones:

First of all, we decided to cancel our participation to the Skinlab tour in September. Some internal issues have been raised recently, issues that we have to deal with and that prevent us to tour in good conditions. Be reassured, this is nothing we can’t take care about and it won’t threaten Sybreed’s existence at all.

Then the second bad news: this is official, Stephane has decided to part ways with us for personal and professional reasons. For short, he couldn’t keep up with the Sybreed shows schedule and take care of his family life as well as his other musical projects (Soulless and Nothing By Chance) at the same time. Of course, this is unfortunate even though we understand and respect his choice. We wish him all the best through his upcoming musical career, and he remains a very good friend of us.

On the other hand, we are happy to announce that we have already found a replacement to Stephane: his name is Ales and he is an utterly talented bass player (the best bass player in the whole world in his own words, when he had far too much Jack Daniel's), grinding his instrument since he got big enough to hold one. He might not be as physically massive as Stephane, but his way of playing is top-notch! He will surely bring interesting, fresh ideas in Sybreed’s music as well as he will already perform his very first show with us this Saturday the 18th in Aarau, Switzerland.

Moreover, know that we will spend the whole summer finalizing the composition of the next Sybreed album (which already as a title but we keep it hush-hush for now) and should start recording this fall: we have already some good material ready, including the recently released Challenger, and plan to make an album of epic proportions! We will issue more news about it in the coming weeks and months


European tour Fall 2011 - May 30th 2011

Dear all,

we are happy to announce that we will tour in Europe next September with the Bay Area trashers of Skinlab. The shows should take place mainly in Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The dates will be published soon.

Challenger EP - April 2nd 2011

Greeting Sybreeders,

As we started working on our next album this winter and knowing that it will take a while before we will complete the whole composition and recording process, we've decided to treat you with a small present, hoping it will make the wait more ... tolerable.

Indeed, we have recorded a new song called "Challenger", which will be released for download on the 23rd of April exclusively on iTunes.
This song will be enhanced with 3 ass-kicking remixes, respectively from BAK XIII, Voicians and Drop.

This EP is a stand alone in itself, giving you a sneak preview of the catchy kind of material we are working on as we speak and that should be released sometimes around spring 2012.

For those lucky enough to catch us on tour in France and Belgium this April, we will also perform "Challenger" on stage.

Threat Over Europe Tour 2010 - Sept 13th 2010

Dear all,

We are proud to announce that Sybreed will be part of the upcoming Threat Signal/Raunchy European tour starting on the 14th of November. Let’s say it's a real pleasure to join forces again with our friends of Threat Signal, with whom we already toured in the U.S back in summer 2009, as well as sharing the stage with the Raunchy dudes. Two other bands are also announced, so as to say M.A.N from Sweden and the Italian act In Cold Blood on several shows. UK Shows - Apr 13th 2010

Dear all,

Some of you were desperatly asking us to visit England. Indeed we haven't been playing there yet, which is a pretty odd thing for a european band.

However, ladies and gentlement, we have the pleasure to announce our participation to the Deathstars show in United Kingdom as direct support: let’s say it should be some great orgy of glam, darkness and metal.
