Kasper about the new effort: “This is by far the most experimental, the most challenging, and the most interesting album we have come up with since the beginning of the band. My personal take on this endeavor is quite simple actually: This album will be on the hot list when it comes out! Every member of the band has had the freedom to take things to the limits, above and beyond, and believe me, boundaries are transparent this time around, we’re going totally apeshit, and you’re definitely in for some big surprises with some cool guest performances by our friends in DUNÉ on the song “Big Truth” among other exciting things”

I'm really really looking forward to this. Hopefully it will have a higher half life than "Wasteland Discotheque".

Sweet!
New raunchy album, that's gonna make 2010 much more interesting!

but I hope that with the release of the album and the touring, Kasper will still have some time for The Arcane Order next record. It's been while since we haven't had any news for a new album :(

Some teasers are now avaible.

Three samples on this page: http://thenewreview.net/reviews/raunchy ... d-electric

The first reviews are not as good as I hoped for. But well, judging from how early the those reviews are, they can't have given the album many spins. Just makes me more eager to hear the album myself.

I personally believe that music reviews are useless. There's no way to tell if an album is good or not except by listening it to it yourself because everyones' tastes are different. I like how the samples sound so far, this is one of my most anticipated CD's that are coming out.

Hm, I think this goes too far. Perhaps because I like to write them myself. I wouldn't ever say that a music review could replace listening to an album by yourself. But reviews have something that mere oppinion doesn't have: arguments. A review idealy is an argumented oppinion, so that the reader can asses how the oppinion of the reviewer came into place.

In the ideal case a review carries info about the musical background of the reviewer, then points out the aspects of the given album that the reviewer finds most noteworthy (technical or soundwise), then points out how the reviewer weighs and rates those aspects, then finally comes to a comprehensive conclusion.

Most important is that the reviewer is aware of his own background and makes it explicit to the reader, so that the reader is able to judge if the perspective of the reviewer is anywhere near to his own.
If this is accomplished, a music review is of course even in its ideal case still not anywhere near an objective, fact-based judgement as for example the ideal of a court judgement.
But it is a worthy, at its best even professional and experienced, oppinion that can show aspects of a piece of art, that many people perhaps would have missed.

So that I would say, reviews are never useless as long as one sees them as what they are: argumented oppinions (even if they sometimes want to be more).
Only problem with many reviews is: The reviewer does neither make his background clear, nor does he really argument. Very many reviews are just fancyly formulated oppinions. The reason for this might be the high time pressure in nowadays journalism.
But in the end it is the reader's choice which reviews he judges to be written well and which not.

EDIT: And on topic  : I like those samples, too. Even "Big Thruth". I always had place in my heart for over-the-top cheesiness. I just hope that the album can deliver memorable melodies over all its 64 minutes.

Phew, new material again. A new album teaser is up on myspace. It consists of samples that also showcase some of the refrains.
I like what I hear so far.

I could honestly have cared less after hearing Shake your Groove, but Street Emperor sounds better...It's still just more of the saaaame stuff though. They need some guest vocalists or something to break the repeating patterns on each song.

That's true. One reason I consider "Confusion Bay" their best album is that it had a fair amount of variation in its moods and song concepts. After that they increasingly got focused on refrains too much.
